Image keywording, retouching and scanning experts and consultants?

Philp Swallow asked:

What are the economics of taking a library of 500,000 photographic images (an old Australian research institute) scanning all their images, keywording them and uploading them onto a web site. The downtown space saved is worth quite a lot, if they can put the archive out of the city centre into storage but what about the revenue from selling the rights to the images on the internet. I read about it here

What sort of budget do I need. How much revenue can I expect. Can I sell it through Corbis, or should I go direct

You’ll probably find you don’t get a straight answer!

It’s always best to go direct and cut the middle man out, if you can. Sometimess the middleman serves a facilitating role vital to closing the deal. It’s a difficult question to answer.

Approach the venture cautiously and keep options open to change feet or having to marching to a different tune.

“Plan B” should always be thought out and foremost in your thoughts in case you need it.
